The hamlet is located in a beautiful part of the Vienne, with lovely walks available all around, whether by the Charente river or through the fields. Perfect for strolling, running, cycling. If you’re lucky you might come across some deer and hare in the fields. You’ll most likely spot the vibrant blue damselflies on the river in the summer. The skies are also filled with a wide variety of birds of prey.
A little further afield, the area is filled with rapeseed and sunflower fields, a sight we never tire from. Driving through the vast open roads, you soon drive through picturesque medieval villages, with houses built of the beautiful Charente stone. Villages set on the rivers with their mills. Châteaux with the towers dominating the villages below.
You can stop for a picnic and a dip in many of the spots by the rivers and lakes, perfect on a hot summer’s day and a favourite pastime of ours.
Whilst the hamlet is set in a beautiful, peaceful corner, we are just 10/15 minutes drive from three market towns : Ruffec, Civray and Sauze Vaussais, where you will find all amenities, including supermarkets, petrol stations, French food markets, pharmacies, restaurants, bars, clothes shops.
When you arrive, we invite you to browse through our ‘Welcome’ folder, as well as the leaflets and brochures with information on all the things going on in the area. We are also happy to advise you during your stay so don’t hesitate to ask us for recommendations, especially in the summer when they are plenty of events and local fêtes and markets taking place!
